Up, Up, and Away: Highlights from the 2022 Parasailing Symposium in Florida

The Okanagan Parasail Crew had the opportunity to attend the Parasail Symposium in November hosted by the Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) in Sarasota, Florida. This event brought together professionals in the parasailing industry from all over the world to share their expertise and discuss industry trends.

As a leading parasailing company in the Okanagan region, attending the symposium was an exciting opportunity for the Okanagan Parasail Crew. The team was eager to learn from other professionals in the industry, network with fellow parasail operators, and gain new insights into safety protocols and best practices.

Okanagan Parasail's owner/operator Rob, was also invited to speak during the 2-day conference and shared his insights on the importance of maintaining accurate wind and weather logs as well as daily maintenance checks during the parasail season. Rob's contributions to the parasail committee, as well as his collaboration with other industry leaders, left attendees with a renewed commitment to implementing these practices in their respective operations.

One of the highlights of the symposium was the opportunity to compete in the Annual Parasail Olympics which involved a series of obstacles and physical challenges. This year, our crew represented us with pride and brought home the silver medal, showcasing their impressive skills and teamwork.

The symposium also provided a great opportunity for the Okanagan Parasail Crew to network with other professionals in the industry. They met with parasail operators from different parts of the world, sharing experiences and challenges, and discussing new ideas and innovations that could be implemented in their own operations.

Overall, the Okanagan Parasail Crew returned from the symposium feeling inspired and motivated to implement the new ideas and knowledge they had gained. They were grateful for the opportunity to attend such a valuable event and to meet with other professionals in the industry.

As a result of attending the symposium, the Okanagan Parasail Crew has invested in innovative new safety equipment and implemented safety protocols and best practices. They are confident that these improvements will help them to continue providing safe and enjoyable parasailing experiences to customers for years to come.
