Heading out for a parasailing adventure? Whether you're a first-timer or you've been up before, knowing what to wear can make your experience way more comfortable (and way less soggy). Here's your go-to guide for what to wear—and what to leave behind—when parasailing.

👕 Comfortable Clothing You Don’t Mind Getting Wet in Summer
While you do have the option to stay completely dry during parasailing, if you choose to get a light splash, toe dip, or full dunk, it’s best to wear quick-drying, lightweight clothing like:
Shorts and tshirts
Swimsuits or board shorts
Athletic shorts & tanks
UPF long sleeve shirts
Note: In early spring and fall (April–May and late September–October), dips in the lake aren’t an option—the water’s just too cold! That means you can stay completely dry and dress a little warmer.
👉 Keep in mind: You’ll be wearing a life jacket and a harness over whatever outfit you choose. The harness fits like a comfy swing seat, and the life jacket needs to fit snug—so pick clothes that aren’t too restrictive.
🧦 Footwear Tips: Barefoot in Summer, Shoes in Spring & Fall
During peak summer, you’ll be asked to remove your shoes before takeoff—barefoot is best when it's warm! But in the shoulder season, when the lake breeze is chillier, you’re welcome to keep your shoes or warm socks on during flight so your feet stay cozy.
Summer: Flip-flops or sandals you can kick off on the dock
Spring & Fall: Runners or light shoes are okay to wear flying—no cold toes in the air!
🌧️Light Rain in the Forecast? Don’t Worry—Just Bring a Waterproof Jacket
If there’s some rain or a sprinkle in the forecast, don’t stress—you’ll still have a fabulous parasailing experience. Just bring a waterproof jacket to help keep you dry and comfortable. Whether you’re up in the air or riding in the boat, a lightweight, packable jacket can make all the difference. And when the sun peeks back out, it’s easy to stash away and keep the good vibes going.

🧢 Hats, Glasses, and What Might Fly Away 😎
Eyeglasses and sunglasses are typically fine, but if you have a sunglasses strap, it adds that extra layer of security.
As for hats, they can easily fly off, whether you're on the boat or up in the air. A backwards baseball cap might stay on, but there's no guarantee, and we can't promise it won't end up in the lake. If you’ve got a hat with a snug chin strap and it fits securely, you might be okay—but it's totally up to you if you want to risk it. Just slap on some extra sunscreen on your face and forego the hat if you have any concern!
👗 Long Dresses & Skirts? Totally Fine!
Wearing a long dress or skirt? No problem! The harness fits more like a swing than a leg-hugging strap, so we can usually accommodate dresses and skirts without any issue. Just keep in mind the breeze—you might want a pair of shorts underneath if you're concerned about modesty.
🧥 Cooler Days? Bring a Light Jacket
Early mornings or shoulder season flights can be breezy on the lake. A windbreaker or lightweight hoodie can help take the edge off.
📵 What NOT to Bring or Wear
Phones: Unless you’ve got a waterproof, floating case with a strap… just let the crew handle the photos. We offer a great and affordable photo or video package!
Loose accessories: Scarves, long necklaces, or anything that can catch the wind.
Parasailing isn’t a fashion show—it’s about fun, freedom, and flying over the lake with a huge grin on your face. Dress for comfort, not style, and you’ll have the time of your life.
