About Okanagan Parasail Co

Experienced Captain and Crew give you a thrill of a lifetime

Imagine flying 300 feet above Okanagan Lake... 360 degree unobstructed panoramic views of mountains, the lake and City of Kelowna with all of its wineries, golf courses and much more!

Parasailing is a unique way for the entire family to see Lake Okanagan and its surroundings; whether you ride on the boat or ride in the sky you need no experience and no ability.

Most people perceive Parasailing as an extreme adrenalin sport which is quickly related to sky diving, para-gliding and hang-gliding. This is not true. Parasailing is the easiest and safest way to achieve the dream of soaring in the air and gazing down at the world below like a bird, without jumping from an airplane or having to run off a cliff.

We have catered to guests aged from 3 to 87. During the 2010 season, we catered to many customers with disabilities that included Polio, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and several blind participants from Kelowna's CRIS group. Parasailing really is for everybody.

The first thing you need to do is arrive at our kiosk at least 15 min before your scheduled time so we can get you organized for your flight. You will be greeted by our experienced Captain and crew who will assist you aboard the boat where you and other Parasailers will receive a safety briefing before departure. Each Parasailer is given a life jacket and then fitted with a harness which is a swing-like apparatus similar to a rock climbing harness but much more comfortable to sit in. The Parachute is then inflated over the back platform of the boat and the first participant(s) will be secured beneath the parachute via the harness.  You are gently winched into the skies of Kelowna up to 600 ft off the back of the boat and 300 ft over Lake Okanagan. When the ride is over, the line is simply winched in and you land on the back of the boat. You don't even get wet, unless you want to. Your ride can be customized using designated signals designed to communicate your intentions to the Captain.  Going higher, lower or returning to the boat can be communicated to the staff and achieved at any time during your flight. Be advised that friends and family on the boat usually get to decide whether or not you touch the water. There is a maximum of 5 Parasail flights per hour of approximately 10 minutes each.

Most trips can expect to be on the boat for an hour to enjoy the lake and scenery from the water. You will then be returned to the dock in front of the Delta Grand Hotel. Non-flying passengers are welcome, subject to availability, at an additional cost of $15. Ask about our on-board photo package.
